iOS autocorrect moves caret inside of word

When I type characters that cause autocorrect to occur on iOS, the caret sometimes moves inside the word. For instance, if I type “dont” and press space bar, autocorrect will change it to “don’t” but the caret will be moved between the apostrophe and the T. Frequently need to reposition the cursor manually after this occurs.
