iOS widget not refreshing automatically

The iOS widget is not updating automatically each morning to show the day's tasks. User has to open the app for it to reset, and sometimes has to open and close it twice. Changes during the day also don't flow through. Deleting and re-adding the widget doesn't help. Has been happening for 2-3 weeks.
