Text lost when switching to another app mid-entry (Android)

While typing into an entry on Android - a note, or one of the daily reflection prompts - switching to another app briefly and coming back loses large chunks of the text already written.

This matters because looking something up mid-entry is a normal thing to do: you go to check a name or a figure you want to include, and come back to find half of what you had written is gone.
