Usability Regressions after Aug 26 Update (Video Included)

Hi Team,

I'm a long-time user who loves this app, but the Aug 26 update introduced critical UX regressions in the Month View that break daily logging.

Below are 4 actionable issues with screen recordings attached.

  • Device / OS: iPhone 15 Pro, iOS 18.7

1. Horizontal Item Width Too Wide (Info Density Loss)

  • Issue: Entry cards are overly wide. Only 1.5 entries fit horizontally per row, completely hiding additional items without any indicator.

  • Fix: Reduce card width / margins to fit 2-3 items natively, and add an overflow indicator (e.g., +2 or ••) when hidden items exist.

  • Ref: See Video 1 (0:01 - 0:10)

2. Gesture Collision: Horizontal Scroll vs. Month Navigation

  • Issue: Swiping left/right to view hidden entries frequently triggers full-page month navigation (e.g., accidentally jumping from Sept to Oct).

  • Fix: Disable full-page month swipe gesture over the entry rows, or revert to vertical expansion.

  • Ref: See Video 1 (0:11 - 0:18)

3. Extremely Small Tap Target for Adding 2nd Entry

  • Issue: Existing entry cards occupy the entire row's hit-area. To add another entry, users are forced to tap the tiny date text on the far left, causing constant mis-clicks.

  • Fix: Expand the row's empty hit-area or allow a long-press on any space within the row to trigger "Add Entry" / Day View.

  • Ref: See Video 2 (0:05 - 0:10)

4. Inconsistent Month Headers

  • Issue: Month headers alternate inconsistently between relative tags ("THIS MONTH", "in 2 months") and actual month names ("DECEMBER") in varying font sizes.

  • Fix: Standardize headers across all months with Month Name as the primary prominent text.

I hope these clip references help your QA/UI team push a fix soon. Thanks for your continuous hard work!

Best regards,

Chad
