Double-tap Day to navigate to Today

Could the navigation to Today, This Month, etc. be streamlined by allowing a user to double tap on Day, Month, etc. respectively? This is low criticality but could be low effort to add. Hamish could then remove the Today text link on the top-right and use that screen real-estate for the Sort/Filter drop down when that feature gets added.
