Yes, I understand. When I originally designed the drag and drop feature, I decided that dragging should be consistent in its behaviour i.e. if you drag something from one place to another, it is always removed from the place you dragged it from.
At the time, I thought that was a good choice because then there's no ambiguity about what happens.
I need to look into what most people prefer before changing this, could make it default behavior or add an option

I don't know if that's what you mean, but in the weekly view when I drag a subtask to a specific day, it becomes a task on Its own (instead of just assigning a date to it) and loses the primary task to which it was attached!
