For example, when a new list is created and the first one is tagged as ''work'' all subsequent entries will retain the ''work'' tag until an entry with a different tag.
Hamish specifically in the daily to-dos: for example my first entry is "meeting with A." and the assigned tag is work - my next few entries are all going in the work tag and it's an additional step to assign that tag to each of them. Then, for example I remember that I have a few household tasks to complete: I make a new entry and assign the appropriate tag, and the tag stays there for the next few entries until I change it for a different one that suits my next set of entries. (For the template feature, I also have to pick that template every time I make an entry that template applies to, which is also an extra step.) Hopefully this makes the suggestion a bit more clear :)

I think I understand what you mean. You want items in a given list to automatically be given specific tags (and perhaps other properties in accordance like the new templates feature)?
