Optional setting: Keep migrated tasks visible on their original date

I would love to have an optional setting that makes task migration behave more like the traditional Bullet Journal method.

Currently, when I migrate a task to another day, the task is moved to the new date and disappears from the original Daily Log.

In the traditional Bullet Journal method, however, the original task remains on the old day and is marked as migrated (>). The task is then added to the new day as an active task (•).

For example:

Monday
> Finish presentation

Tuesday
• Finish presentation

This has an important advantage: when looking back at previous Daily Logs, I can still see what I had originally planned for that day and which tasks I had to migrate.

Suggested implementation

Add an optional setting such as:

“Keep migrated tasks on original date”

When enabled:

  • The original task stays visible on the original date.

  • Its bullet changes to > to indicate that it was migrated.

  • A new active instance of the task appears on the destination date.

  • The old entry could optionally be read-only or linked to the current task.

When disabled, migration could continue to work exactly as it does today by simply moving the task.

This would preserve the history of the Daily Log while still allowing users to choose between the current digital workflow and the traditional Bullet Journal migration method.
